Meet the fox behind Sharpe Fox Photo: our dog Kodi.

A unique blend of chow, shepherd and “mixed breeds” according to a doggie DNA test, she did favor a fox, and people were quick to point that out wherever we took her.

It was a fitting descriptor.

Kodi was incredibly smart and clever, aloof but curious about anyone who wasn’t a part of her pack, and fiercely loyal to those who were.

She was weird about affection and appreciated personal space (the chow), but she was also happiest when she was with her people (the shepherd).

We said goodbye to Kodi in 2020, a season of loss for the entire world.

At the time, we couldn’t imagine life without her, but here we are, two years later, amazed at how much ground we’ve covered since then.

Whenever I look through all the photos from the 12 years we had with her, I’m filled with the bittersweet mess of emotion that nostalgia stirs.

I ache for one more walk, one more awkward hug, just one more moment, knowing that any extra time with her still wouldn’t be enough to make her loss any easier.

I also smile, remembering the joy for life she reflected when she was with those she loved.

I’m grateful for both the memories I have and the photos that help me remember.

She will always be our little fox.

You’ll see her in my feed from time to time because it’s good to look back occasionally as we move through life's seasons.

I share because these are images I treasure—just as I intend to create for you and those you love. 🦊
