Give this option a try with beautiful views and plenty to keep kids engaged during the session. No hiking or drive to the mountains involved!

At Home Sessions


Fall is such a busy time. Make family photos work fit into your schedule with an At Home session. These sessions are so meaningful to me because they capture life in the sacred, shared backdrop, where moments define a family.  They allow a family to relax in front of the camera and just be in their element. It's familiar. It's home.


These sessions are completely documentary and lifestyle based. Have me come over to document you living your life. Maybe that’s Saturday morning pancakes, a family bike ride or even bedtime! Little everyday moments like these are what define a life. They are precious and deserve to be captured.

For more than 50 years, Penland Tree Farm has been a destination for families hoping to find and cut down the perfect Christmas tree, making special memories along the way. Get a head start on your holiday season with scenic family portraits that will put your family in the holiday spirit for years to come.

Fall Session FAQs

Who should participate in a session?

Yes, families are usually the ones participating in these sessions, but ANYONE can sign up to have beautiful photos taken. Maybe that’s you with your partner, or with your fur baby, or even your grandma! It’s also not a bad way to do a surprise engagement, announce a pregnancy or celebrate other major moments! 😉 Regardless of who participates, we will have fun and make some beautiful images together.

What should I/we wear?!?!?

This is the number one question I get from clients as they are preparing for their session. I have tips on what to wear and how to get ready in session guides that I'll send to you once you're booked!

What is your payment policy?

Payment is due at the end of the session. Currently I accept cash, check, Venmo or PayPal.

When will I receive my photos?

After your session, I will share a gallery of proofs with you within 3 business days. Once you select the images you want, I will make additional edits and share the final, high-resolution images with you within 7 business days.

You also have the option to choose expedited editing, where I make the selections and get final images to you within 7 business days of your session.

What if I want to buy more photos?

I offer additional photo packages for those who want to purchase photos beyond the number included in a session. The packages are included in the Price Addendum at the bottom of your contract, but I am also happy to share the rates with you at your request.
